Our Mission

Who are we?

The Congolese Observatory for Universal Access to Energy (OCATE) is an observation and information tool designed to continuously monitor the evolution of electrification in the country, as well as the development of renewable energies within the DRC's energy mix.

Continuous monitoring
Real-time data
International standards
Democratized access

This is done based on official objectives and indicators established at national and international levels, ensuring a neutral, objective and transparent approach to energy information.

Active since 2020
Expertise

Scientific Team

A multidisciplinary team of experts involved in producing analyses and capitalizing on the experience of existing observatories.

A CORAP product

OCATE is a CORAP initiative

OCATE is not an NGO or a platform, but a tool initiated by CORAP, which relies on its member organizations, the Mwangaza Network and the POLE Dynamics to integrate the needs of local communities. A dedicated collaboration mechanism will be put in place to effectively coordinate field work, in perfect harmony with other state and non-state institutions.
